Getting Started with NeroScale

Welcome! This guide will help you install NeroScale and start using the tools in your Revit projects.

What is NeroScale?

NeroScale is a collection of powerful tools for Autodesk Revit that helps you: - Transfer and manage parameters across elements - Check model quality and find issues - Export and import data to Excel - Validate that your model meets standards - Automate repetitive tasks

Think of it as a productivity toolkit that makes working in Revit faster and easier.

Quick Start (5 Minutes)

Step 1: Install NeroScale

  1. Download the installer from your NeroScale account or the link provided by your administrator
  2. Close Revit if it's currently running
  3. Run the installer (NeroScale-Setup.exe)
  4. Follow the prompts - just click Next through the wizard
  5. Installation complete! You'll see a confirmation message

Step 2: Launch Revit

  1. Open Autodesk Revit (2024, 2025, or 2026)
  2. Look at the ribbon at the top of the screen
  3. You should see a new NeroScale tab

If you don't see it, check the Troubleshooting section below.

Step 3: Activate Your License

  1. Click the NeroScale tab in the Revit ribbon
  2. Click the License button
  3. Enter your license key (you should have received this by email)
  4. Click Activate
  5. You'll see a confirmation that your license is active

Step 4: Try Your First Tool

Let's test it with a simple tool:

  1. Open any Revit project (or create a new one)
  2. Click the NeroScale tab
  3. Click Model Health Check
  4. Select "Warnings" and click "Export"
  5. Choose where to save the report
  6. Click OK

Congratulations! You just created your first NeroScale report.

Understanding the NeroScale Ribbon

When you click the NeroScale tab, you'll see tools organized into groups:

Common First Tasks

Check Your Model for Issues

  1. Click Model Health Check
  2. Select all the checkboxes (or just Warnings for a quick check)
  3. Choose Excel format
  4. Pick where to save the report
  5. Click Export
  6. Open the Excel file to review issues

Copy Parameters Between Elements

  1. Click ParameterTransfer
  2. Select source elements (what you're copying from)
  3. Pick the parameters you want to copy
  4. Select target elements (what you're copying to)
  5. Click Transfer

Export a Schedule to Excel

  1. Click Schedule Excel
  2. Choose which schedules to export
  3. Pick where to save
  4. Click Export
  5. Edit in Excel, then import back when done

Validate Your Model Data

  1. Click NeroSpec
  2. Go to Rule Executor
  3. Select a schema to run (or create your own first)
  4. Click Run Validation
  5. Review the pass/fail results

Troubleshooting

NeroScale Tab Doesn't Appear

Check if it's installed: 1. In Revit, click the File menu 2. Click Options 3. Click Add-Ins 4. Look for NeroScale in the list

If not listed: - Re-run the installer - Make sure Revit was closed during installation - Check you have admin rights on your computer

If listed but not showing: - Check the "Enabled" checkbox next to NeroScale - Click OK - Restart Revit

License Activation Failed

Check your license key: - Make sure you copied it exactly (no extra spaces) - Check it hasn't expired - Verify you're using the right key for your version

Still not working? - Check your internet connection - Contact your administrator or support

Tool Buttons are Grayed Out

This usually means: - You need to have a project file open (not just Revit) - Some tools only work in project files, not family files - You may need to select elements first for some tools
